LOS ANGELES — French startup company Needemand has officially launched its subscription-based age verification solution, BorderAge.
According to a rep, BorderAge is the first age verification solution that requires no personal data, instead using AI to analyze hand micromovements to determine a person’s age.
“Our nervous system evolves rapidly from birth to adulthood, altering the physiological characteristics of certain gestures,” said the rep. “BorderAge’s AI analyzes these micro-changes, invisible to the naked eye, but scientifically correlated with age. The solution was validated in 2024 by Age Check Certification Scheme, a leading authority in international certification, as 99% reliable, and was tested on a large scale by the Australian government in the spring of 2025.”
“BorderAge is also inclusive and free from ethnic bias — unlike facial analysis–based solutions — interoperable, and easily deployable,” the rep added.
